About Us


IRECO was founded by a group of friends who share a passion for the sea and adventure, with the aim of raising the level of knowledge of the issues related to the sea and water sports in general, by providing the skills and professionalism of its members.
The founding members and close associates, professionals and academics, hold positions of particular importance in different sea-related activities, including: hyperbaric medicine, neurology, geology, archeology, underwater archeology, biology, oceanography, statistics.
The protection of environmental and cultural heritage of our country can be achieved only through a sacrifice individual resulting from a conscious use of resources. Since man protects what he loves and loves what he knows, the IRECO believes that spreading knowledge of environmental and cultural heritage is a necessary step to achieve the goal of conservation.
In this context the activities dell’IRECO is divided into two sectors:

  • the first with the launch of research programs in specific fields of biology and underwater archeology (are being a marine biology research in collaboration with the University of Rome, and an archaeological survey in collaboration with the competent Superintendence)
  • the second, with the publication of books and manuals is eminently popular, but by the content strictly from a scientific perspective, concerning the sea, adventure and archeology, also with reference to the history and biographies of the men who have given their decisive contribution to the advancement of knowledge.

The publishing business, for the quality and specificity of books published, many of which are a “unique” in the literature, even in the world, has won numerous awards and prizes at international character.
